On October 31 we (Me – Davit and Lilit) were in a mountains. Maybe you will ask so what? This was not an ordinary hiking. In every year, on October 31, local people are going to mountains for making huge fire, praying and singing traditional songs and anthems. While doing this they can see also another local people in other mountains doing the same thing, which is making fire.

As I understood they are doing this for making kind of ‘circle’, to show to the universe that they are one and strong community and they keep their traditions.

On Sunday morning we went on a trip with our new friend Csaba. We really wanted to go to the dog shelter and finally, we did it.

The shelter was located 10 kilometers far from Brasov. At the entrance, we disinfected our shoes and went inside. There was an open aviary where two dogs were walking. When we entered the next door, we saw three large dogs. One of the dogs has sick eyes and he has a cone-shaped thing on his neck (later we found out that the eyes of the dog had been operated on). Then we saw a dog with different color eyes and the back legs were in the pram (the dog was paralyzed), the other dog's head was twisted and some kind of liquid flowed out of its ears (the dog was deaf).

I have been in Romania as a volunteer less than two months. Many of my friends considered this project a senseless waste of time, that it wouldn’t help me to find a profession and I would waste a year in vain. But even two monthes have not passed since that time I already feel tremendous changes in my life.

Since my student days, I've used to worked hard to earn money, but never thought about my future profession. Every day I wanted to try something new, go somewhere, do extreme sports or just meet a sunraise with my friends carefree. But instead of making them come true, I came up with excuses, I didn't have enough strength to do it after work and on the only day off I preferred to just sleep.

On october twenty fourth we (me Davit, Nane and Lilit with Csaba) went to a dog shelter near Brasov. It was the first tiime I went any type of shelter. When we reached there, one big, white mountain shephered dog greet us in front of the shelter. He was a very hairy, kind  and cute dog.

There were around 5 volunteers and workers.I was really proud of them, because they are doing great job for homeless dogs.In a dog shelter there were 3 separate places for dogs. The first part was for sick dogs. The second one was a place for adoptable  dogs and the third place was for angry dogs (but I am sure that the reason of their angryness were rude people).

I have never played games such as table tennis because I did not have time for games, sports and different activities due to my busy work and university pace, and this was a big deficiency for me. In addition, the fact that these activities were very expensive in my country was another problem.

Because of my love for dance, I could only go to dance class by sacrificing my sleep. In this city and within the scope of this project, we play various games such as table tennis and badminton, and we do this regularly 2 times a week. It's a huge privilege for me, people here have made it a way of life.
