During the educational program ”Doing School Differently”, on April 16th, members of Zöld Nap Association visited the students of Apor István Secondary School in Sânzieni, where they organized an event for the day on the topic of environmental protection. The photos taken during the event are available on the association’s Facebook page.
In the first part of the event, participants got familiar with the association’s main activities, focusing on the projects in the frame of the Erasmus+ programme. This session was followed by a presentation offered by the association’s current EVS volunteers. The two volunteers, who are working in the association’s Friends of the environment project, shared their volunteering experiences and presented their home country, Spain. In the end, Miguel Paya and Carmen Gallardo answered the students’ questions.
After a short break, students were asked to work in small groups, and develop strategies in order to save an imaginary town. Each team, representing a local institution or entity, tried to save the town from a contamination. Some of the students were representing the local authorities, others were delegates of the school, the restaurant, the shopping mall or the local farm. After creating the strategies, the teams presented their plans, and together they discussed them. After hearing the student’s ideas, it is safe to say, that the imaginary town of Bartabás was saved, the danger of contamination was successfully removed. The interactive game “Saving an imaginary town” was developed within the project “Green Sun School” and it is a very successful activity, loved by the students.
The event ended with some dynamic activities, energizers and team-building games. The organizers hereby express their appreciation for the support and warm hospitality of the local teachers. The project was carried out with the support of Erasmus+ Programme.
