Hello to new cultures

Hello everyone, l am Ayşe Büşra Yılmaz from Turkey and this is my first article for Green Sun Association website. On 18 April Green Sun Association took part in one event organized by the Active Women Organization from Kézdivásárhely. The event aim was to celebrate together on the second day of Easter the holidays in the city and keep more people around this beautiful celebration, what all Christians around the world are celebrating.

Therefore being a Muslim it’s the first time in my life when I celebrate Easter, as in my country there is no Easter. I have learned how to celebrate it while we organize a few activities.

At the beginning of the project, due to language barrier it was not sure to me what I have to do but later everything become clear.

Despite the cold weather, a lot of people came with their children and participated at the event. We did some handmade crafts with the children, such as the rabbit from a plastic spoon, and a chicken from egg carton. We tried to use as much as we could recycled materials in our activities. But not just Green Sun Association was present in this event, there were a lot of other local organizations like: Pro Pectus Association, KreaKids, Helen Doron and so on. Children could paint gingerbread, and the main organizers also made a small free-zoo, where children could see rabbits and donkey. And not at least hundreds of Kinder eggs was hidden in the surrounding area of the sport center.

So finally I can say  this Easter was really new and nice for me. I am so happy, that I could help my hosting organization and make Easter so interesting.
