From November 30 to December 1 2022 Green Sun Association had a team-building activity for local and international volunteers. The activity aimed to strengthen the friendship between local volunteers and new international volunteers.

The first day we spent at Kézdivásárhely sports motel. We had team-building icebreakers and energizers organized by the head of GSA Ráduly Attila and Soso Tkhlashidze (ESC volunteer from Georgia). Taierling Péter Ferenc had a presentation about Csiszár Fürdő, a place of mineral water springs his family owes for more than a decade. Many local people and tourists are visiting there during summer. 

Then Gülcan Babir (ESC volunteer from Turkey) had a presentation about making posters. After her presentation, we had the chance to make our first posters in groups. 

At the end of the day we had board games, we played “cica, pizza, taco, gida, sajt” which helped with learning new words in Hungarian, and we played UNO, Hungarian cards, chess, and Remy too. 

The second day was my favorite part of our team-building. We visited an old castle: Herecz vára​ built in the 11th-12th centuries. One of our local volunteers Kis Emese told us about the history and legends of the castle. I hope in future also we can visit old castles, churches and other monuments with our team.

One of our team members Márton Fanni – Bíborka shared her impressions of the event:

“It was a pleasure to attend both days of team building again, where I was surrounded by a very friendly community. The activities and team-building games organized by the new Georgian volunteer Soso were very wonderful,  the two presentations were also good. Mostly I liked the trip to Herecz vára – Castle, which I visited for the first time.”

We will have team-building activities a few times a year, and each time one or two international volunteers will take part in organizational work.

I think that having time together out of work was productive for us, especially in integrating into our new team. This activity helped us to strengthen our friendship with local volunteers.
