The Environmental Facility has invited applications regarding the development of cycle tracks inside the cities. Local governments could also assign to the contest. In County Covasna the governments of the cities Sepsiszentgyörgy and Kézdivásárhely assembled the tender dossier. The deadline of the project was 20 August, but on 9th Aug. the council has testified that the founds assigned to the project ran out, so the city could not further participate in the competition.

Based on last years’ success, in mid-August the Green Sun Association newly invites applications for a photo contest, by the title Man and Nature. The winning compositions will make up the 12-page 2012 Wall Calendar. You can take a look at the contestants’ photos in the following gallery.

On August 27, 2011 the Association of Small- and Medium Size Enterprises of the County of Covasna (ASIMCOV) organized the second potato-fest in Tg. Secuiesc. Twenty-two teams were signed up from all over the Pannonian Basin. On Saturday hundreds of people visited the event. The President of the Jury was the contractor Hegedüs Ferenc. The jury rated the clothes of the teams, the working atmosphere, the preparation of the ingredients, the cooking itself and finally the décor of the table.

On 13-14 August took place the designation of the last part of Nemere Trail green route. The main sponsors of the IV. Nemere Trail Camp were Enviromental Partnership Foundation and Tusnád Ásványvíz Rt. Photos taken at the event can be viewed here.

On the 2nd anniversary of Green Sun Association it was presented their first 20 page long brochure in English. In the small introductory booklet you’ll find all important information you should know about them. After the president’s preface you’ll find a photo mosaic presenting members and volunteers of the association, than you can read about the association’s goals on a few pages. There is also presented the most significant activities carried out during this 2 years, like Green Days of Spring or the Buy Local Products campaign.
